1159 - 1991 Audi 80 Quattro

1991 Audi 80 Quattro Supertourisme.

The scan isn't too bad this time... but nevertheless it doesn't do the drawing justice. I'm really proud of this one, and the original drawing looks much better than what you see here - I'd say it's my best car drawing on A4 paper (the Morgan was better; though that was A3 and so I could do much more fine detailing on it).

For a drawing I didn't even think I'd get done today, I'm surprised to have done so well. I woke up today feeling like it was one of those days nothing gets done... it took me forever to finish the DeLorean drawing this morning (mostly due to procrastinating every 5 minutes) ... yet somehow I've gotten this one done as well.

The variants of the Audi 80 and 90 can get a little confusing sometimes since they're so similar... I remembered a while back seeing a model of a really cool racing version, with a nice (but not over the top) body kit. When i looked it up later on I had difficulty finding it, though eventually came across the car you see here. and decided i had to draw it. I'm generally not a fan of GT/racing cars as I think cars usually look nicer without all the stickers and logos (which weren't that fun to draw...) all over them - yet somehow this one doesn't look too bad. I guess it's a fairly simple, not too messy, design.

Anyway, this is my last car drawing for quite a while... so I guess it's nice to finish on a pretty successful one. I have exams in may so will have to start revising soon, and after that it's the summer holiday - where I usually have so much I can't wait to do, people to catch up with... I just don't draw when I'm back home for summer. It seems a waste seeing as I can draw all I want when I'm bored stiff at university.
I'll be back drawing cars full steam in september though - I have loads planned - and I'll still do a handful of drawings over the next few days (just not car-related) before I finally succumb to revision...
